Ryla Teleservices, a leading customer contact and data verification service bureau, has won the U.S. Department of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Local Service Firm of the Year award. The MBDA's Local Service Firm award is given to minority-owned businesses who demonstrate excellence in the development of minority-owned and operated enterprises. "Ryla Teleservices is exhibiting excellence in a highly competitive industry: they have performed in an outstanding manner," said Robert M. Henderson, Regional Director of the MBDA. "This performance speaks well for Mr. Mark Wilson's leadership and abilities. I am pleased our selection committee chose Ryla as the Local Service Firm of the Year." The MBDA is a part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and is the only federal agency created specifically to foster the establishment and growth of minority-owned businesses in America. Award recipients are selected from nominations submitted by both the public and private sectors, but primarily by Business Development Centers, in categories such as Minority Manufacturer of the Year, Retail Firm of the Year, and Technology Firm of the Year. "Ryla was nominated for this award because of their impressive contact center operation, high profile client list, and financial success achieved over the last two years," said Lindsay Martin, Project Director of the Atlanta Minority Business Development Center. "Not only is Ryla's business model a stable and exciting one, but Mark's commitment to the development of his people by promoting from within and creating a comfortable and supportive work environment, contributed to why the company was a perfect nomination for the Local Service Firm of the Year award." Mr. Wilson will accept the award at the MBDA's 21st Annual Minority Enterprise Development Week (MED Week) Award Ceremonies in Atlanta in September. MED Week is an annual event to recognize and promote the achievements of minority-owned and controlled business enterprises and their supporters. The U.S. Department of Commerce, MBDA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are the designated co-sponsors of the event. "Ryla is much honored to have received the MBDA's award," stated Mark Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer for Ryla Teleservices. "We have assembled a strong, diverse team with a unified vision of creating excellent customer interactions in every communications channel. As we continue to grow our priority will remain delivering the highest quality of service to our customers."
